What Do These Levels Mean?
- ALT & AST: These are liver enzymes. High levels may indicate liver inflammation or damage (like hepatitis or fatty liver).
- ALP: This enzyme is found in the liver and bones. High ALP can suggest liver or bone disease.
- Bilirubin: A substance produced when the liver breaks down old red blood cells. High bilirubin may cause jaundice (yellowing of the skin).
- Albumin & Total Protein: These help with various body functions, including keeping fluids in the bloodstream. Low levels may suggest liver disease or malnutrition.
